ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Former Lobo and Albuquerque-native Teton Saltes is living the dream right now.

He just finished OTA’s with the New York Jets, and now gets to see his favorite band, the Foo Fighters.

The opportunity surfaced thanks to a video from a Jets practice.

"Every day we come out of the locker room and there’s kind of like a camera set up there and there will be a question on there. This particular day it happened to be, who is your favorite artist? I got to tell the world I love the Foo Fighters, so I went straight to the camera and I told him, you know, I love the Foo Fighters," Teton said.

To Teton’s surprise, the Foo Fighters saw his clip.

"I looked down on Twitter, and it was a notification, so I clicked it and it was from the Foo Fighters, and I was like, what?" he said.

Teton took things a step further and asked the Foo Fighters if he could see a show. His ask came just in time for the band to announce their first big concert since before the pandemic, which will be right down the road from Teton in New York City.

"They were like, ‘Hey man, we’d love to get you out here. First concert back in Madison Square Garden. We got your tickets. Even sitting here thinking about it, my mind is kind of blown. I’m excited to go rock out here," he said.

Teton said he purchased tickets to see the Foo Fighters in Albuquerque last year, but the pandemic forced the band to cancel the tour.

"I was bummed out about that, but the fact that I get to see them now in Madison Square Garden of all placesman you could not have asked for anything better. I don’t know if you can tell, but I’m like a little kid right now how excited I am for this concert. I’m ready to rock," he said.

Teton said he plans to take his mother to the show in New York.

The Foo Fighters are also planning to return to Albuquerque Aug. 9 at Isleta Amphitheater.
