The wintry weather has hit Taos hard, and it is hard to find anyone upset to see the powder fall from the sky.
Taos has accumulated 10 inches of snow since Monday night.
School was cancelled city-wide, bringing smiles to the faces of students of all ages.
“This is awesome. It’s just the break we needed,” said seventh grader Allen Palmer.
Students weren’t the only residents happy to see the snow; skiers hit the rental shops in anticipation of hitting the slopes when Taos Ski Valley opens Friday.
The ski area got over three feet of snow Monday night. Officials said the mountain now has a 60 inch base.
