ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The UNM Lobos men’s basketball teams are continuing to go through their summer workouts and both Jaelen House and Jamal Mashburn Jr. are practicing with their teammates.
Mashburn has played with star addition Morris Udeze before and commended the Lobos on adding him to the team.
“I’ve known Morris a long time – we actually went to camp when I was in eighth grade – and he’s a little older than me but he was on my team when I was, I can’t remember,” Mashburn recalled. “He’s the same way, great dude, presence down low is great, offers of rebounder and defense of rebounder.”
Coach Richard Pitino echoed Mashburn’s thoughts.
“He is a willing passer,” Pitino said. “The bottom line is, if they throw it to him, something good is going to happen and it doesn’t mean it has to always be him shooting.”
The Lobos unveiled their 2022-23 non-conference schedule, which can be found here.
