ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — In week one, the best battle at Lobo football practice is with the quarterbacks.
Miles Kendrick is a transfer from Kansas but CJ Montes is a second-year player from California.
Montes struggled in the few chances he received last year. So far in practice, though, he has looked solid and plans on making it tougher for head coach Danny Gonzales to decide on a quarterback.
“I think he could be the glue up there,” Gonzales said. “He plays the game the right way and I’m super excited about that piece.”
