SOUTH VALLEY, N.M. — Detectives with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Monday morning near Blake and Isleta.
SOUTH VALLEY, N.M. – An Albuquerque man is in jail, accused of shooting a man who was allegedly speeding in his South Valley neighborhood.
Bernalillo County deputies say Joseph Gonzales called 911 on Monday and told dispatchers he shot a man on Val Verde Drive.
Gonzales reportedly said he yelled at the man who had been speeding and the driver turned around, got out of the vehicle and the two argued.
Police identified the driver as Abner Antillion.
Deputies say Gonzales fired a warning shot and Antillion ran back to his car, but Gonzales thought he was grabbing a weapon and shot Antillion.
Gonzales is now charged with murder.
