St. Pius prepares to begin football season

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The St. Pius Sartans will open the season on Friday night against Grants at Bernalillo High School.
The strength of the Sartans will be on the defensive side of the football, as Head Coach David Montoya has more returners on that side of the ball.
For the first couple of weeks, Bernalillo will be their home away from home.
"With the limited time of practice and stuff, that’s what everyone looks like so that is obviously a concern– just to see what our office is going to look like so will probably be leaning on our defense pretty heavily those first couple of weeks," Montoya said.
