West Mesa football team begins small group workouts

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Football teams in Albuquerque kicked off small group workouts Monday.

West Mesa put the helmets back on, and are ready to get the spring rolling.

"It’s the first step in the right direction– being able to go back out here in the pods," said Anthony Ansotigue. "It’s a beautiful day it’s just awesome to be back out here."

The Mustangs have a senior-heavy team that’s excited to get one more chance to play.

"It’s more than I can even ask for because just not even being out here it was tough on us, then just hearing the news that we can come back out here and finish the season with your games– it’s a huge blessing," said Ja’Calvin Newsom.
