ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — After a five-month wait, UNM women’s soccer is finally ready to kick off the spring season.
The Lobos will open an all-conference schedule Friday at Colorado State.
The team spent the last three and a half weeks going full contact.
Friday’s opener will be their first match since December 2019.
"So excited. Our house woke up this morning, and we were like, ‘It’s finally game week. We can finally say that we can go play a game, actually do something," said Jadyn Edwards.
"Makes us humble and grateful for everything that we have here. The fields, practicing with everybody—it just means everything," said Malia Vanisi.
"It’s been a long time coming, so I think for us, we’re making sure we enjoy everything that we’re doing, and we appreciate the opportunity to be out here," said head coach Heather Dyche.
