ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Lobos Head Coach Danny Gonzales brainstormed with his family to find a new slogan for the Lobos.
"Our previous schools, there was fear the spear, or the fork, and they are catchy and you see students wearing them a lot," Danny said.
His son, Jake, thought of "Fear the Fangs."
"Fear the fangs is catchy, you know, we have our Lobos that have a mean, nasty wolf," Danny said.
Next stop was bringing Fear the Fangs to life – so Jake got to work on Photoshop.
"In middle school I started doing graphic design kind of classes just because it seemed like a fun thing to do," Jake said. "I just always enjoy doing stuff on computers and whatnot. I kind of started looking at different logo pictures and how it would look for the different logos and stuff."
The result? A family collaboration for the past, present and future.
With his first home game as head coach about a month away, Coach Gonzales wants to see Fear the Fang shirts in the stands.
"It’ll be cool having everyone back here and hopefully all Lobo pride," Jake said.
