Volcano Vista boys and girls first to finish undefeated together in same year

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — In front of a nearly sold out crowd Saturday night at The Pit, Volcano Vista boys basketball completed a historic feat.
The Hawks defeated Las Cruces in overtime 66-55 to win their first state title since 2017.
Volcano Vista becomes the first school in NMAA history to have boys and girls basketball go undefeated in the same season. The girl’s basketball team has won 41 straight games after defeating Hobbs on Friday for their second straight stat championship.
