FBI arrests three suspects during Violent Gang Task Force raids

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Three suspects were arrested when the FBI executed multiple search warrants Thursday morning in Albuquerque.
The FBI says all suspects were taken into custody without incident. Two raids took place in southwest Albuquerque on Coors and Leo Road, then there were another two raids in northwest Albuquerque on West Bluff and Airport Drive. According to the FBI, there was also a fifth, unnamed location.
“This is a follow up to last September’s operation, in which we seized more than one million fentanyl pills,” said Frank Fisher with the FBI.
That September operation also turned up $1.8 million in cash, 37 firearms, 142 pounds of meth and two hand grenades, among other items. During those raids, 13 men were arrested.
The operations are all a part of an ongoing FBI investigation targeting violent street and prison gangs.
The New Mexico Attorney General’s Office, New Mexico State Police, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office and the Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Laguna police departments were all involved in Thursday’s operation.
The search warrants are still sealed at this time, so information is limited.
