I-40 fully reopens but slick conditions persist

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Although I-40 in New Mexico fully reopened Thursday morning, authorities are warning of slick conditions on the road.

I-40 west at Gallup and I-40 at Winslow, Ariz., was closed Wednesday night due to weather conditions. That stretch reopened Thursday morning but cautious driving was advised.

In the Albuquerque metro, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office warned of black ice and several crashes on I-40 between 98th Street and the Route 66 Casino.
