Kira Miner: Near record heat to continue Friday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Mostly sunny conditions with near record heat will continue Friday through the weekend.
Only a few weak showers or thunderstorms are possible near the Colorado border Friday afternoon.
A few more showers and storms will develop over far western New Mexico Saturday, pushing east to near the Rio Grande Valley Sunday afternoon.
Breezy west winds remain on track for Monday as a storm system slides east through the northern Rockies.
High temperatures are forecast to remain above average for the first week of September.
