Crews extinguish ‘brush fires’ in South Valley

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Fire crews managed to quickly extinguish "brush fires" in the South Valley Friday evening.

Deputies closed both directions of Broadway, north of Rio Bravo, for about 15 minutes so crews could respond to the fires.

The lanes were reopened by 6:15 p.m.

It’s not clear what sparked the fire.
