Mandatory evacuations lifted in Las Vegas following flooding
LAS VEGAS, N.M. — Mandatory evacuations have been lifted in Las Vegas following flooding. Some residents may now return to their homes.
Bradner and Peterson Dams have been deemed safe and there are no further impacts at this time. All roadblocks will be cleared immediately.
Evacuations have been lifted in the following areas:
- NM Highway 65 from MM 4, south along Hot Springs Blvd
- Entire Los Vigiles Area, including County Road A11E and A11A
- North Castleview Drive
- West Castleview Drive
- Countryside Drive
- Countryside Court
- Mineral Lane
- Blue Hills Drive
- Entire Los Vigiles Area, including County Road A11E and A11A
- Fountain Drive
- Willow Lane
- Stella Lane
- Lucille Drive
- El Llano Road
- Cinder Road to Mills Avenue
City leaders are urging people to stay away from all flooded areas and remain cautious. There are current water restrictions in place. Updates will be shared here.
There are two shelters in place. If you live on the west side of Las Vegas, a shelter has been set up at the Las Vegas Senior Center, at 500 Sabino Street. If you live on the east side of Las Vegas, the shelter is currently at the Abe Montoya Recreation Center at 1751 North Grand Avenue.
