ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — While high school teams, like the La Cueva Bears, can’t be on the field just yet, they can be in the weight room.
The Bears have a plan to challenge the Rio Rancho Rams and the Cleveland Storms of the world – and you can do that by hitting the weights in June to be strongest in September.
“I’m blessed to be at a school that has such a great veteran staff. We have great coordinators here, we have great assistant coaches here, so I feel a bigger part of my role is more about off the field than it is on the field sometimes,” head coach Brandon Back said. “So it’s making sure the kids understand what we have to get done every single day, have to understand the mentality they have to bring to the table every single day and that’s what I try to focus on as we move through the summer.”
