ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Lobo football team staged their first scrimmage of the spring season Saturday.
The biggest takeaway from head coach Gonzales was that the Lobos have a boat load of things to work on.
In most spring scrimmages, the defense is always ahead of the offense. Coach Gonzales said the biggest different was in physicality. In other words, the defense was much more aggressive.
"We were down a little bit. I don’t think the energy was as good at the very end. With the last drive, we had a lot of guys out there who didn’t get very many reps, so there was a ton of assignment mistakes. Those guys gotta understand, if they want an opportunity to prove they can play, they have to know what to do when they get an opportunity," said head coach Danny Gonzales.
