Rio Rancho gets OK to participate in high school sports
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Rio Rancho Public Schools will be allowed to participate in NMAA-sanctioned sports.
The district got approval from the New Mexico Public Education Department.
Rio Rancho was seeking approval after it elected to move to a hybrid learning system for all grade levels.
Under the current guidelines, Albuquerque Public Schools is prohibited in participating in NMAA-sanctioned events because it has decided to remain in the virtual setting.
