ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- UNM Head Basketball Coach Paul Weir claims no players are option out, and they plan to resume their regular season against Colorado State next week.
The Lobos will not participate in the series with San Diego State this week.
Weir believes the week off will help his team recover.
By conference rule, the Lobos need seven scholarship players available to play the Rams.
"I am hopeful that will still be able to compete against Colorado State," Weir said. "Te intend to get the right people to go into that trip. If for some reason unbeknownst to me, right now, things snowball in another direction and we need a larger break that might be something that all go through. Like I said, I do not want any player to feel I have forced them more than opt-outs are not an option."
