ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The UNM women’s cross country opens up the season in Las Vegas on Friday.
Head coach Joe Franklin is gearing up his team for a shortened season.
The Lobos compete just once before the Mountain West Championship in March.
"One thing we’ve seen throughout our sport is people performing at an exceptionally high level, and the women right now are very fit and healthy, and they’re all going in the right direction," he said.
The men’s team won their first meet on February 1 in Las Vegas.
