ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — UNM’s Gwen Maly was voted Mountain West co-offensive player of the week.
Maly has been leading the conference in scoring with nine goals.
UNM finished the regular season with a 9-1 record and will host San Diego State in a cross-divisional match Saturday.
The winner of the match gets the conference title and an automatic ticket to the NCAA tourney.
"It means everything to me. I mean, that’s been one of my top goals since I came here to UNM, and I’m just so excited to have that opportunity and possibly go to the NCAA tournament. Since I was a little girl. I’ve always wanted to go to the NCAA tournament, so I think we’re ready this year and I think this is our year," Maly said.
The Lobos and the Aztecs will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at the UNM Soccer Complex.
