Eye on New Mexico: The impact of record-breaking wildfires on national, state forests

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico has been rocked the last couple of months between record-breaking wildfires, to an early monsoon season that brought flooding concerns with it. Through it all, one of New Mexico’s greatest natural resources was heavily impacted– the forests.
In May, multiple national and state forest lands were closed to the public because of the growing fire concerns.
