ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – There are new developments in the case of two people who led police on a lengthy pursuit over the weekend.
20-year-old Kelsey Medina and 18-year-old Nikko Star are accused of trying to lose police after a brief crime spree over the weekend.
For more than an hour, APD’s helicopter tracked them going from the interstate to neighborhoods.
Aerial video from APD showed a third person jumping out of the car to get away from police.
On Tuesday, Star and Medina appeared before a judge. Both learned prosecutors have filed motions to keep them in jail until trial.
According to police, the two went on a violent crime spree in response to a fight at a party the night before, when Star claims his wallet was stolen.
Star allegedly told investigators they had more than four handguns and rifles.
Police say the person who ran from the car during the pursuit took all of the guns.
Right now, only Star and Medina are charged.
They’ll stay locked up until a district court judge decides if they’ll stay in jail until trial.
Officers arrested Nikko Star, 18, and Kelsey Medina, 20, who are both charged with several crimes. They admitted one of the passengers fled from the car with all of the involved guns. pic.twitter.com/Yshp6XQ57S
