20 New Mexico teachers each awarded $1,000 for classrooms
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — During Saturday’s New Mexico Bowl, 20 teachers from across the state were awarded $1,000 each for their classrooms.
The 20 teachers were each given the money after being nominated by their peers for their remarkable work and dedication to brightening the futures of New Mexico children.
The money was given out during a timeout in the game, held at University Stadium in Albuquerque.
PNM and the New Mexico Bowl teamed up with the College Football Playoff Foundation and the Extra Yard for Teachers program, to make the awards happen for teachers who work at:

- Goddard High School
- Desert Willow Elementary
- Murray Elementary
- North Valley Elementary
- Quemado Elementary
- Des Moines High School
- Alamogordo High School
- To’Hajiilee Community School
- Taos Municipal Schools
- Eldorado High School
- Freedom High School
- Duranes Elementary School
- Dolores Gonzales Elementary School
- Cochiti Elementary & Middle School
- New Futures High School
- Pajarito Elementary School
- Milagro Middle School
- Amy Biehl Community School
- Independence High School
