ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A growing company in Albuquerque thinks they have a solution that could someday be a multi-billion dollar industry.
David Dworsky and his wife started Team 1st Technologies in 2007.
“We find technologies, we vet ’em and we make sure that they work,” David said.
What started a business that brought tech solutions to classrooms has evolved into what David says is the future of preventing crime.
“These are our autonomous security officers,” said Andy Sanchez, the director of sales for the company.
The 350-pound rovers were originally designed by a company called SMP Robotics for mining minerals on the moon. The rovers have cameras and can return automatically to the charging base.
The cameras on the rovers can reportedly pick up a person’s face at 200 meters and a vehicle at 800 meters. They also have infrared cameras, and are built to handle all types of terrain.
