Albuquerque police arrest suspect in fatal hit-and-run crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police have made an arrest after a deadly hit-and-run crash last month near Constitution and Louisiana.

Christopher Trammell – who identifies as Tara, according to a criminal complaint – appeared in court for the first time Saturday. A judge will decide later whether to keep Trammell in jail until trial.

Trammell is facing multiple charges, including homicide by vehicle, after hitting a pedestrian crossing the street.

Police say Trammell tried to get away with it the next day by reporting the car stolen, which they found only a half-mile away from Trammel’s house.
