ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque police released lapel video Wednesday in a December 2024 shooting.

Video shows the moments officers shot the armed man they were chasing in a northeast Albuquerque McDonald’s parking lot.

Police say Roberto Perez and Joshua Garcia were driving a stolen car and robbed multiple business. 

When officers caught up to the suspects, they caught Garcia, but police say Perez rammed their cars with the stolen car. Then, he ran toward the McDonald’s parking lot where he refused to listen to police commands.

Police shot him in the left hand and the back. He was taken to the hospital and then later booked into jail.
