Albuquerque residents can get free microchips and tags for pets
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is offering free microchips and custom pet tags for dogs and cats starting June 1.
The offer is available for all Albuquerque residents from June 1 through July 3. They’re doing it each day from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Westside and Eastside Animal Shelters. No appointment is needed.
They stipulate you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid ID to microchip your pet(s). The microchip will be registered to the ID holder.
The information you provide is important. If your pet is lost, the information attached to the microchip will help with identifying your pet and bringing them home.
