ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — On Wednesday morning, police were called out to a home in southwest Albuquerque because of a parole violation.
At the home, Vincent Griego was found with 22 firearms and around 5,000 to 10,000 rounds of different ammo. Griego has a history of possession charges and running from law enforcement – which he was sentenced to four years of probation in 2019.
At his home, officers seized numerous rifles, handguns and gun accessories. Many of the weapons were found in plain sight, but even more firearms were found in a closet where police said a man was found hiding – Jerry Jojola.
Jojola is also facing charges for the guns and drugs.
One gun was tampered with and had the serial number intentionally scratched off, making this another crucial bust to keep guns off the street.
Police said Griego wasn’t only holding guns in his home, there was also 300 fentanyl pills and a bag of methamphetamine.
Griego will stay in jail while he awaits his pretrial detention hearing.
