APD: Pedestrian killed in northeast Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A woman is dead after a car reportedly crashed into her while she was walking on Pennsylvania Street in northeast Albuquerque.
Police responded around 11:20 p.m. Monday to a fatal crash at Pennsylvania St. and Mountain Road N.E.
Investigators found a silver Volkswagen sedan struck a woman pushing a shopping cart as they were both traveling north on Pennsylvania. Then, the car reportedly drove away from the scene.
AFR pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Officers believe “pedestrian error” and speed contributed to the crash. No charges are pending at this time. An investigation is still ongoing.
