BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. — The time is now if you’ve ever wanted to be a firefighter, as Bernalillo County Fire Rescue is opening applications through June 9.
BCFR says they responded to 21,881 calls in 2022. Already this year, firefighters responded to 8,833 calls.
They expect the year-end total of calls to be higher in 2023 than in 2022, on point with a trend they’ve seen since 2019.
BCFR Lt. Robert Arguelles stopped by to explain what the job entails and what you can get out of it.
If you’d like to apply, see the video above for more details.
