Police investigate fatal crash south of Roswell

CHAVES COUNTY, N.M. – A Carlsbad woman is dead following an early Wednesday morning two-vehicle collision south of Roswell.

New Mexico State Police say Alexa Renee Fox, 23, died in the crash that happened just before 4:15 a.m. on U.S. 285 near milepost 85. Fox was reportedly dead at the scene.

Fox was reportedly heading north on U.S. 285 in a Chevy Tahoe, when the vehicle went over a center median and into a southbound lane before colliding head-on with a 2013 Ford F-550.

The driver of the Ford F-550 received some injuries and was taken to a hospital. That driver’s condition is not known.

According to a press release from State Police, the accident remains under investigation.
