Free New Year’s Eve admission for some Albuquerque museums
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Next Saturday is New Year’s Eve and the City of Albuquerque is offering free museum admission and fun family activities before it gets dark.
CABQ’s New Year’s Eve Before Dark initiative is offering free admission to the ABQ BioPark Zoo, Aquarium and Botanic Garden, Albuquerque Museum and the Balloon Museum. The deal is good until 3 p.m. Saturday, December 31, when each place will close early.
At the Albuquerque Museum, there will be some holiday-themed crafts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Balloon Museum will have balloon science activities, crafts, live music and some fun photo-ops from 9 a.m. to noon.
All 19 public library branches in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County will also have a variety of activities, including story time and crafts. Click here for a list of times and locations.
Explora! will also be doing a Noon Year’s Eve Celebration, which will include a countdown and two balloon drops at noon on New Year’s Eve. That event is included with the regular Explora! admission and you can click here to purchase tickets.
