ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque drivers need to brace themselves for the reality of paying $5 a gallon – just for the cheap grade.
A spokesperson for AAA New Mexico, Daniel Armbruster, said that gas prices in the state have gone up 36 cents per gallon for regular unleaded over the last week.
“The average for New Mexico is $4.79, that’s the highest price ever recorded by AAA, and the price of gas in Albuquerque is $4.85, also the highest recorded by AAA,” Armbruster said.
According to AAA, Americans will unfortunately be stuck with high gas prices for a while as a result of global supply and demand.
