ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – There’s a lot on people’s to-do lists nowadays. Between work, keeping up with the children, and all those household chores, some things can slip through the cracks – like keeping up with the yard. A new app is making lawn care as easy as pressing a button.
“Greenpal has been described as Uber for lawn care,” said Gene Caballero, co-owner of GreenPal.
The app is making a big return to Albuquerque after a not-so-successful launch back in 2019
“When we first kind of came to Albuquerque, you know, the only thing that you could get done was lawn mowing, and you know, when you get to that part of the country, there’s not a lot of lawns to mow,“ said Caballero.
Three years later, they’re back with a lot more options on the menu.
“Now it’s anything outside of the home. So if you need turf put down, you need a fence built, you need your gutters clean, you need, you know, your shrubs trimmed, everything can be done through the app securely, safely and efficiently,” Caballero said.
And yes, weed removal is on the list. Caballero says the app is a one-stop shop for homeowners and vendors, everything from scheduling to payment is handled through the app. It even offers scheduling and route optimization for landscapers looking to grow their businesses.
“We just want to become the default way that homeowners find schedule and pay their lawn guy, and also just kind of be the default operating system that landscaping professionals use,” said Caballero.
Caballero says there are roughly 25 to 30 vendors already signed up in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe area, but they’re always looking to add more and there’s an expansion in the works.
“We’re going to start doing snow removal services in the markets that, that are needing snow removal,” he said.
And we made sure New Mexico is included.
“I didn’t realize you got snow. Until like this last year. I was like, Oh, wow, Albuquerque gets snow, that’s crazy,” said Callabero.
