LCSO: 11-year-old killed in Hobbs stabbing
HOBBS, N.M. – The Lea County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing Sunday that left an 11-year-old boy dead, and another woman in critical condition.
Officials say deputies responded to the scene Sunday on the 3900 block of N. Dal Paso Street in Hobbs.
According to police, deputies discovered 11-year-old Bruce Johnson Jr. and 49-year-old Mary Johnson with several stab wounds.
Authorities said Bruce was taken to the hospital, but later died. Mary was also transferred to the hospital and remains in critical condition.
Bruce’s body has been sent to the Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque for an autopsy.
