Live blog: President Biden’s visit to New Mexico

President Biden is visiting New Mexico for an update from state officials on the multiple wildfires across the state.

Update: 6:30 p.m.

President Biden headed back to Kirtland AFB after meeting with state officials and announcing further federal aid.

Update: 3:20 p.m.

Biden spoke on the federal response to the wildfires in New Mexico. He said the federal government will cover 100% of the costs of the wildfire damage.

The president just announced the federal government will cover 100 percent of the Calf Canyon Hermit's Peak fire cost…to "fully compensate survivors for their loss."

The president is en route to the Roundhouse in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
