ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A car chase and a shooting, which resulted in two arrests, may have resulted from retaliation for what happened at a party over the weekend.

APD released video showing how, for more than an hour Saturday, their helicopter tracked a gray Dodge Charger from the interstate to neighborhoods.

The helicopter even caught one suspect. They appeared to hop out of the car before jumping a fence to get away from police.

Documents indicate that the person allegedly took all the guns involved.

Then elsewhere, police cornered the vehicle in southwest Albuquerque. They arrested 20-year-old Kelsey Medina and 18-year-old Nikko Star.

Star allegedly told police they recruited three friends, grabbed more than four handguns and rifles and retaliated against someone who they believed stole Star’s wallet at a party the night before.

Court documents detail how they used those firearms to damage a car at a South Valley home. From there, police allege they broke into the home – stealing a purse, a camera and a PlayStation before firing their weapons and driving off.

The home where all this happened, police say, was where the party was Friday.

Medina and Star are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

As of now, police haven’t arrested the friends mentioned.
