ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Every family looks different, and every member brings a little something different to the table.
KOB 4 introduces you to the Albuquerque High School football family that’s smashing stereotypes on the field, and on the sidelines.
“I’m happy. I feel very blessed. I do,” said Traci Medrano, assistant coach of the Albuquerque High School c-team.
Medrano is one of a small group of women across the district involved in Albuquerque High School football, and one of even a smaller group with assistant coach in front of her name.
“I think there’s probably more that want to do it, and I think they should do it,” said Medrano.
Medrano leads the Albuquerque High School c-team alongside head coach Frank Armijo. Their relationship runs deeper than just coaching partners because they’re also brother and sister.
