State Fair begins at Expo New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico State Fair kicked off Thursday and runs through Sunday, Sept. 18.
Hundreds of folks have been enjoying the food and rides – plus a couple of new exhibits, and some old favorites making a comeback for the first time since 2019.
Organizers are putting extra emphasis on safety this year.
State fair officials said they are working closely with New Mexico State Police, the Albuquerque Police Department, the city’s Community Safety Department, Navajo Nation police, the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, and local fire departments.
