New Mexico State Police assigns extra officers to Bernalillo County
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexico State Police will be sending additional officers to Bernalillo County to help local law enforcement.
“The extra State Police officers assigned to the area will focus on carrying out traditional proactive policing to stop violent crime and take violent criminals off the street,” Ray Wilson, NMSP spokesman, said in a release issued Wednesday. “Officers will conduct traffic and criminal enforcement operations like saturation patrols, warrant roundups, and narcotics operations.”
State Police will work alongside the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office and the Albuquerque Police Department to accomplish this goal.
“We are still in the initial process of developing an operational plan and will have more information for the public once finalized,” Wilson wrote.
