NMSP: Man killed in motorcycle crash near Tucumcari
SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, N.M. — A 60-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday night when he struck a deer north of Tucumcari.
Around 9 p.m. Monday, New Mexico State Police officers responded to a reported motorcycle crash at milepost 98 of New Mexico State Road 104.
Officers arrived and, upon further investigation, discovered a 2002 Harley Davidson, driven by Robert S. Evans, 60, of Nara Visa, struck a deer while traveling east on NM 104.
Evans was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.
