Police arrest suspects in Baskin-Robbins armed robbery
LOS LUNAS, N.M. — Los Lunas police arrested two suspects they say committed an armed robbery late last month at a Baskin-Robbins.
The alleged robbery happened Sunday, January 21. A day later, police determined the suspect vehicle was stolen and recovered, prompting investigators to get a search warrant on the car.
Police investigated and identified the suspects as 30-year-old Gene Perez, of Belen, and 20-year-old Charley Heald, of Los Lunas.
Police on Wednesday arrested Perez in Los Chavez. Then, two days later, they found Heald at an Albuquerque motel and worked with the U.S. Marshals Service to arrest Heald.
Heald and Perez are in the Valencia County Detention Center, booked on multiple felonies, including armed robbery.
