Police: Suspect arrested for fatally shooting Clovis teen
CLOVIS, N.M. — Clovis police say they arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly shooting and killing a 17-year-old girl overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
Police officers responded around 12:38 a.m., Aug. 3, to a report of a man being shot in the head at an apartment complex. When they arrived, they found the girl lying in an apartment building entryway with a gunshot wound to her chest.
Emergency crews took her to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving. She was later identified as Shammeal Kirven.
19-year-old Zyon Williams was arrested Wednesday afternoon after being identified by witnesses during the police’s homicide investigation.
