Polls open for New Mexico primary elections

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — June 7 is the day for several primary elections in New Mexico as voters decide which candidates will face the respective incumbents in this fall’s general elections.
Republican gubernatorial candidates and Libertarian gubernatorial candidates will face off to see who will receive their respective party’s nomination and face Democrat incumbent Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in the fall.
Democrat candidates Raúl Torrez and Brian Colón will face off to see who will run against Republican candidate Jeremy Gay for the state’s attorney general position.
Republicans Michelle Garcia-Holmes and Louie Sanchez will face off to see who will go against Democrat incumbent U.S. Rep. Melanie Stansbury, while Democrats Darshan Patel and Gabriel Vasquez will face off to see who will take on Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Yvette Herrell.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
