Roswell police seek public’s help IDing homicide suspect
ROSWELL, N.M. — Police in Roswell are seeking the public’s help to identify a person accused of fatally shooting a man last Friday.
Roswell police believe the suspect may be a person they saw in surveillance showing the area where the shooting took place. The suspect was wearing khaki shorts, a backward ball cap, a light-colored facemask with a skull on it and a black shoulder sling bag.
Roswell police say the shooting occurred in the 600 block of South Missouri Avenue last Friday, Aug. 19.
Emergency responders found 36-year-old Robert Smiley dead, with at least one gunshot wound. Smiley was found inside a travel trailer on a residential property in the area.
