Authorities arrest suspect accused of shooting Ski Santa Fe employee
SANTA FE, N.M. — Authorities arrested a suspect accused of shooting a man who was driving to work Wednesday morning at Ski Santa Fe.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed 42-year-old Gregory White is accused of shooting the Ski Santa Fe employee in the back as he was driving on Hyde Park Road.
According to a criminal complaint, the victim was driving to work when he noticed a truck and a sedan were driving fast behind him. He pulled aside and let them past.
As he pulled over to let the sedan past, the truck pulled up from behind again. This time, investigators learned a man allegedly exited the truck and saw him fire a gunshot. The victim then realized the gunshot struck him in his lower back.
The victim person is being treated at Christus St. Vincent hospital. The sheriff’s office expects him to recover.
Deputies caught up to a person of interest, identified as White, and detained him. Surveillance video and evidence connected him as the suspect.
Authorities booked White into jail Wednesday afternoon on charges of aggravated battery, shooting at a motor vehicle and tampering with evidence.
