Softball tournament to benefit Special Olympics next weekend

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Next weekend, you can have fun playing softball while supporting the Special Olympics of New Mexico.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run Co-Ed Softball Tournament is Saturday, September 16, at 8 a.m. It’s taking place at Barelas Railroad Park.
APD and the U.S. Probation Office are hosting this event for the second year to raise money for the Special Olympics.
Participating teams include law enforcement agencies and Special Olympics athletes. There are also spots for anyone who wants to get a team of 10 together to play.
The cost to enter a team is $250. All proceeds from the double-elimination tournament will go to the Special Olympics. Click here to register.
Sanchez Tacos will be there from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. but people are welcome to bring food.
