Woman accused of child abuse murdered in Farmington

Farmington police are searching for a man who was seen on video leaving the scene of a deadly shooting.

FARMINGTON, N.M. – Farmington police are searching for a man who was seen on surveillance video leaving the scene of a deadly shooting.

Officers were called out to a house at Auburn and Navajo in response to an active shooter. When they arrived on scene, they found Patricia Madrid dead.

KOB 4 told you about Madrid and her husband, Jammy Jackson, being arrested earlier this month after a months-long child abuse case.

Investigators say one of their children was forced to stand outside in a chicken coop all day. Both were facing several child abuse charges but had been released from jail.

Fast-forward to Wednesday morning, when a family member found Madrid shot in the head.

Now, Farmington police want to talk to a man seen leaving the scene after the shooting. There is also a picture of him on a bicycle headed east on Navajo Street toward Lincoln Avenue.

If you know him, you are asked to call Farmington police.

We asked FPD if they believed this killing was in connection to Madrid and Jackson’s child abuse charges, and they say because they don’t know who the suspect is they don’t have a motive to share at this time.
