ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A fugitive wanted in Mexico for killing nine Americans, including six children, was arrested in Albuquerque.
U.S. Marshals arrested Ivan Gustavo Hernandez-Cabral Monday. He is awaiting extradition to Mexico.
In November 2019, two American families were traveling through northern Mexico when their vans were ambushed.
Mexican authorities believe the attack was a case of mistaken identity, with the gunmen believing their caravan was part of a cartel convoy.
Three women and six children were among the dead.
